Hubbard Glacier, Alaska Cruise Port of Call

The Hubbard Glacier is located at the northern end of Yakutat Bay. It is about six miles across, and is thought to be Alaska’s longest ice face. It is also a very fast moving glacier. In fact, just a decade ago it suddenly moved to block the entrance of Russel Fjord, trapping hundreds of marine animals for several months until it suddenly receded back into its place. The sight of this glacier is amazing, with its long face of striking glacier blue.
