Victoria, B.C. Cruise Port of Call

Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm are located about 50 miles south of Juneau. They are both long, narrow fjords with rushing waterfalls and cliffs topped with snow-capped mountains. Tracy Arm Fjord ends at Sawyer Glacier and Endicott Arm Fjord ends at Dawes Glacier. Both glaciers are constantly ‘calving’ - dropping huge chunks of ice into the waters below – and some of these chunks are sure to ricochet off your cruise ship hull as you cruise these narrow fjords. Tracy Arm was originally named “Ford’s Terror Wilderness” for a crewman named Ford, who spent a terrifying night lost in the waters here, with chunks of ice falling all around him. Be on the lookout for bald eagles, whales, sea lions and harbor seals, as well as black bears and deer along the cliffs.
Before you depart, you’ll want to check out the books below, although you can’t go wrong in Victoria with just some comfortable walking shoes!
